Founded in 2010 by Jay Gilbert and Jason McAdam, Burnside Brewing Company takes an alchemist approach to enhance the craft beer and culinary experience. Burnside is widely recognized as a visionary leader in the Northwest brewing industry—bold enough to take risks and smart enough to leave a creative impression on your palate. The finished product is an outstanding combination of original cuisine and beer, both deeply rooted in innovation and quality. Our menu and seasonal brews constantly evolve, so make sure to stop in often.

We are brewers who make great beer. Starting in 2010 the goal of having an independent, creative brewery in the heart of Portland, came to fruition. After a Gold Medal at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver and 500 plus beers later, Burnside Brewing is proud to be a fixture on the inner east side along with other quality distilleries, breweries and small business owners. Our tanks are working seven days a week, on a 15 barrel system, allowing us to provide a wide variety of beer choices throughout the year.

Located on Burnside St. in the middle of Portland’s inner eastside, Burnside Brewing Co. is decidedly in the heart of beervana. Upon entry, note the massive heart wood fir beams placed here in 1927 when the building was constructed. Care was taken to create a lively space anchored by our open kitchen layout and surrounded by our artisan built black walnut and distressed steel bar. Each table was created from the very same black walnut tree, felled and solar kiln dried locally. Take a seat and peruse the menu offering cured meats, charcuterie, pickling, and culinary artistry all done in-house, and designed to pair with our hand crafted beers.
