Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences

SLU – the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences – develops the understanding and sustainable use and management of biological natural resources. SLU, founded in 1977, offers a number of educational programmes, including veterinary medicine, forestry, and landscape architecture.

SLU offers programmes and courses, ranging from Bachelor's to Master's and PhD level. There's also a variety of courses for those who wants to shape their own education.

SLU takes on the global challenges. Food supply, competition for land, genetic resources, pandemics and zoonoses, and climate change are issues with implications for the world’s poorest countries in particular.

The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (Swedish: Sveriges Lantbruksuniversitet) (SLU) is a university in Sweden. Although its head office is located in Ultuna, Uppsala, the university has several campuses in different parts of Sweden, the other main facilities being Alnarp in Lomma Municipality, Skara, and Umeå. Unlike other state owned universities in Sweden, it is funded through the budget for the Ministry for Rural Affairs. The University was co-founder of the Euroleague for Life Sciences (ELLS) which was established in 2001.
