After all, he is the longest tenured starter in the history of Notre Dame football, having 52 games of coming out on the field with the first unit. Save for two appearances at right tackle vs. Western Michigan and Pittsburgh during his freshman year, he has been the cornerstone of the front wall at the demanding left tackle position throughout his storied career.
