LOS ANGELES - Precisely one month after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery, Astros catcher Brian McCann bent into a catcher's squat for the first time on Friday.
ARLINGTON - Although the Astros are depleted at catcher, Evan Gattis will continue just as the team's primary designated hitter and catch only in an emergency, manager A.J. Hinch said Wednesday.
It was only the second time McCann squatted into a catcher's position since the surgery. He caught Justin Verlander's side session on Monday, much to the delight of all involved.
